A heating unit that burns gas or uses electricity to warm air.
A furnace produces heat by burning natural gas or propane (or using electric elements) and distributes the warmed air through ductwork with a blower. Gas furnaces deliver strong, fast heat ideal for deep cold, and are rated by AFUE. They provide heating only — cooling requires a separate AC.
